While the opening day was one dominated by the batsmen at the Wanderers, it was the bowlers who stood out at Kingsmead on the second. New Zealand's bowlers wreaked havoc after Daniel Vettori put Kenya into bat and here are a few statistical highlights of the game.

  • New Zealand romped home with nine wickets and 74 balls to spare, the biggest victory in terms of balls left in a Twenty20 international and the shortest match so far in the shortest format.

  • Kenya's total of 73 was the lowest in Twenty20 internationals; the dubious record was previously held by Australia, who scored 79 against England at the Rose Bowl. The low total also resulted in the lowest match aggregate. Kenya were involved in the earlier low as well.

  • Kenya were off to a shaky start, with their first three wickets falling with the score on 0. This is the first time it's happened in a Twenty20 international, with no instances of even two wickets having fallen with the team failing to get off the mark.

  • With six ducks - a record for a Twenty20 innings and match - it was no surprise that eight of Kenya's batsmen failed to reach double figures.

  • Mark Gillespie was the star of the day, finishing with 4 for 7, the best figures in a Twenty20 international.
