The victory was set up by Piyush Chawla's four-wicket haul on the second day as the home side faced imminent defeat, struggling at 192 for 8. Singh trapped both Peter Ongondo and Elijah Otieno leg before to wrap up the innings for 211. Though the Kenyans fell way short of making India bat again, it was an improvement from the first-innings capitulation of 97. Chawla finished with a match haul of 6 for 45, continuing his good form from Zimbabwe. Parthiv Patel bagged the Man-of-the-Match award for his 124.
