Punjab 141 for 3 lead Andhra30 (Gagandeep 5-11, Sharma 5-3) by 111 runs
Scorecard
Gagandeep Singh and Samrat Sharma snapped up five wickets apiece as Andhra were devastated for a paltry 30 at Mohali. Seven batsmen were out for ducks as Gagandeep tore through the top order and Sharma dug into the lower half. Sharma had the amazing figures of 5 for 3 in 3.3 overs. Punjab's reply contained some useful partnerships, with Dinesh Mongia and Yuvraj Singh both scoring 38.

Mumbai 236 for 5 (Mazumdar 91*) v Railways Scorecard
Amol Mazumdar's patient 91 propped up the Mumbai innings, after they were sent in to bat and lost early wickets at the Wankhede Stadium. Jai Prakash Yadav accounted for both the openers, but Bhavin Thakkar (35) and Mazumdar added 64 for the third wicket and began the rebuilding operation. Vinod Kambli hit a flurry of fours before he fell, caught and bowled by Sanjay Bangar. But Ramesh Powar (32*) hung around with Mazumdar, and they added 85 before stumps were drawn.

Kerala 85 for 2 v Delhi
Scorecard
Bad weather delayed the start of play at the Harbax Singh Stadium in Delhi. Kerala, after being sent in, crawled to 85 after 54 overs with Hemanth Kumar and Vipin Lal remaining unbeaten. The wickets were shared between Amit Bhandari and Sarandeep Singh.

Hyderabad 237 for 4 (Vinay Kumar 84*, Manohar 54) v Tamil Nadu
Scorecard
Hyderabad put up a solid batting show after being asked to take first strike by Tamil Nadu at the Gymkhana ground in Hyderabad. Vinay Kumar stood out with a sedate 84, while Daniel Manohar and Ibrahim Khaleel chipped in with 54 and 44 respectively. Tamil Kumaran was the most successful bowler (2-52), but Hyderabad easily had the better of the day.

Karnataka 61 for 0 trail Gujarat 210 (Thaker 50, Ganesh 5-61) by 149 runs
Scorecard
Gujarat, after opting to bat at Ahmedabad, frittered away the advantage as their innings was derailed by a Dodda Ganesh five-for. Bhavik Thaker scored a round 50 and all the top three got starts, but none kicked on to a big score. Sunil Joshi and Udit Patel, the two spinners, tore into the middle order and grabbed two wickets apiece. The Karnataka openers played out 14 overs at the end, with Arun Kumar and Barrington Rowland remaining unbeaten on 40 and 20 respectively.

Uttar Pradesh 232 for 4 (Raina 66) v Baroda
Scorecard
A good allround batting display vindicated UP's decision at the toss at the IPCL Sports Complex ground at Vadodara. Suresh Raina carried on his good form with a patient 66, and all the top-order batsmen got off to starts. Rizwan Shamshad and Gyanendra Pandey put on 58 for the fifth wicket and were still there when stumps were drawn.

Madhya Pradesh 169 for 4 (Abbas Ali 55*) vTripura
Scorecard
Madhya Pradesh moved on at a snail's pace after electing to bat at Indore. Syed Abbas Ali played the anchor role with a 160-ball half-century and put on 70 with Devindra Bundela (37) for the fourth wicket. Arindam Sarkar, the medium-pacer, was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 39.

Vidharbha 300 for 4 (Fazal 138*, Deshpande 66) v Jammu & Kashmir
Scorecard
Faiz Fazal stroked a fine 138 as the J&K bowlers were put to the sword at Nagpur. J&K will have rued their decision to bowl first as the openers put on 118 in 31 overs. Pravin Londase contributed a useful 47. Fazal hammered 16 fours and a six in his 255-ball effort, and remained unbeaten at stumps.

Goa 125 for 3 lead Himachal Pradesh 111 (Aware 5-63, Dani 5-45) by 14 runs
Scorecard
Aware and Dani picked up five wickets each and rattled Himachal Pradesh at Dharamshala. After opting to bat, HP were skittled out for a meagre 111, as only one batsmen passed 25. Goa used only these two bowlers, and both sent down more than 20 overs. Goa's reply was a solid one, and they lead by 14 when play was called off. SM Asnodkar top-scored with 46.

Maharashtra 250 for 4 (Kanitkar 107*) v Services
Scorecard
Maharashtra lapped up the chance to bat first at Aurangabad after they were inserted by Services. Hrishikesh Kanitkar, the former Indian batsman, notched up a fine 178-ball hundred and received good support from the rest. Niranjan Godbole, Sagar Shah and Ranjid Khirid contributed thirties, which helped them reach a round 250 at the close. Fazil Mohammad's three wickets was the only notable bowling performance.

Saurashtra 68 for 4 v Orissa
Scorecard
Only 30.5 overs could be bowled at Cuttack, as rain played spoilsport. However, Orissa vindicated their decision to bowl, as Deepak Mangaraj struck three vital blows and reduced Saurashtra to 68 for 4.
