Profile
Bert Tobin was a fast bowler from South Australia with 16 matches under his belt - and not real pedigree - when he was chosen in the Australian XII for the fourth Test in the 1932-33 Bodyline series. In the match before the announcement he took 0 for 92 against Queensland, and it was no surprise when he was made 12th man and then dropped for the final Test. In a 26-match first-class career he never took a five-for, and after the 1934-35 season he headed to England where he forged a career in the Lancashire Leagues and married well.
