Profile
Brother of Gloucestershire's Alex Gidman, Will was also on the books in Bristol before signing for Durham in 2006. He made his first-class debut against Sri Lanka A in 2007 and looks a mirror-image of his brother, being more of a bowling allrounder who bats left-handed. Comparisons with his brother are inevitable, but if he can break into the first XI at Durham he may yet carve out a niche of his own in the north east. Alan Curr April 2008
