Heath Streak guided Warwickshire to a tight two-wicket win, with five balls to spare, against Durham at Edgbaston. The result moves Warwickshire away from the relegation zone, but they needed Streak to give them the final push with an unbeaten 37 off 35 balls. Moeen Ali had put them on course with a blistering 35-ball 57, but when he fell Durham's spinners brought them back into the game. Graham Onions took two wickets on the day he was called up by England, but went at nearly eight an over. The Durham batting had fallen away from 194 for 4, as the last six wickets went for 19 runs. Gary Scott hit a run-a-ball 50 while Ben Harmison and Gareth Breese also chipped in.

Lancashire were pushed further into the relegation mire after their third washout in five games when their clash with Nottinghamshire failed to get started at Old Trafford.

Division Two

Points table

Worcestershire overpowered Derbyshire at New Road after Steven Davies impressed with the bat. He hit 52 off 68 balls to follow up Stephen Moore's half-century at the top of the innings. Vikram Solanki fell for 49, but Derbyshire never threatened to get near the target. When Chris Taylor, the last main batsman, was run out for 37 the end came swiftly. Kabir Ali claimed 3 for 8 and the spinners took four wickets between them.

A blistering half-century from Dwayne Bravo put Kent on course to record a comfortable 62-run win against Yorkshire at Scarborough. He smashed five fours and three sixes in his 22-ball 50 and along with Matthew Walker's more sedate 74 off 70 balls they turned the innings around from 80 for 4. Michael Lumb and Richard Pyrah carried Yorkshire to 172 for 3, but they had fallen well behind the asking rate and the remaining batsmen subsided trying to hit out. Rob Ferley benefited to the tune of 4 for 33.
